Made this a couple of days ago (bought a plain graham cracker crust, but otherwise followed directions). It was delicious the first night. It was amazing the next day! Thanks for this recipe!

hey so i tested making a recipe of my own and used all my ideas of nutter butter crust, chocolate, bananas, and cinnamon. i have received rave reviews by everyone who tried it so far but i am still working on the texture of my pastry cream a little bit and am looking for something a little more melt in your mouth. so i might try a Bavarian cream but still use all the aforementioned flavors. so thats the news. maybe when i get the recipe to where i feel it is perfect i will forward you a copy to try out. i would love some feedback someday.

[Jennifer Vu] This pie garnered rave reviews at a potluck—even if it did look a little homely. My whipping cream layer wasn’t as full as the one in the picture, but it was enough to balance out the filling. The crust and banana cream layer were cinches to make. In fact, the entire recipe didn't take long, especially since you can start the pastry cream while the crust is baking. If you've never made pastry cream before, have no fear—the steps in the recipe outline the process simply and neatly. Next time, I’d probably double the amount of chocolate ganache, as well as make some extra whipped cream to top the pie.
