Our Ten Most Popular Recipes of 2010—So Far

Every few months we take a look at the site’s pageviews to see what’s hot and what’s not. The first quarter of 2010 was no different. What was different—and, frankly, quite surprising—was that when we looked at your top 10 most clicked-on recipes, an unprecedented 80 percent of them were desserts.

Now, the sweeter side of life has always been popular with you. But we’re scratching our heads as to why soooo many desserts have made it into the top 10 this quarter as opposed to any other. I was sure that comfort food would be way up there. You know: mashed potatoes, stews, braises, mac and cheese, etc. After all, it was winter. In a recession. But no—lots and lots and sugar is what you craved. So much for the concept of keeping our national blood sugar level steady, huh?

While we’re not suggesting you pounce on all 10 recipes this week, you may want to schedule these rich, luscious, and entirely decadent dishes over the next several months. Do we stand behind them? Absolutely. Every one comes from trusted cookbook authors, including David Lebovitz, Flo Braker, Dede Wilson, Julie Child, Jennifer McLagan, and little ole me.

Is your favorite LC recipe listed? If not, tell us. We’d love to know what dishes you think deserve accolades.
