Permissions

Thank you for inquiring about permission to reproduce, use, or link to works found on Leite’s Culinaria, Inc. Because of the indiscriminate use of components of my site without proper attribution, I’m now requiring written requests, which is a simple procedure.

A few things to keep in mind:

1. I don’t have the authority or permission to allow recipes that are not mine to be reproduced in print or posted on another Web site. (Please look at the bottom of the particular recipe to see who owns the copyright.) But if there are recipes that you’re interested in including on another Web site, you are allowed to link to the desired pages on my site. That way you’re not breaking any laws, and you’re still able to offer your readers the recipes.

2. I can only give permission for my photographs to be used elsewhere. All other photographs are the property of the publishers and/or photographers.

3. We are not responsible if a publisher or photographer contacts you about copyright infringement, and requests reimbursement, because you have used a recipe or photo you found on this site.

Copyright use is a complicated and litigious issue. For every recipe that appears on my site, I had to secure permission. If you have any doubt as to whether a recipe, photograph, or article from my site can be reproduced, please e-mail me. If they’re mine, chances are I’ll allow it.
