Big chunks of dungeness crab, celery, and jalapeno peppers stud these crab cakes. A homemade tartar sauce and asparagus and lemon dressings add color and zing.
Nancy Oakes and Pamela Mazzola have worked together in Bay Area restaurants since 1988. After partnering at Nancy’s restaurant Boulevard, the duo opened Prospect, also in San Francisco, in 2010. They have received several James Beard awards for the fresh, ingredient-driven cuisine in their restaurants and cookbooks, and are contributors to culinary magazines and tv shows. Both Nancy and Pamela reside in northern California with their families.
