Silvena Rowe was born and raised in the ancient city of Plovdiv, Bulgaria, just 300 miles from Istanbul. Her Turkish father instilled in her a love of cooking and, as generations had done before him, passed down the traditions of Ottoman cuisine. Rowe is now the executive chef of Quince at the May Fair Hotel in London. She's also a regular guest on the BBC's Saturday Kitchen and ITV's This Morning and has written for the UK's Guardian newspaper. Rowe is the author of Feasts and Purple Citrus and Sweet Perfume.
