Alain Coumont is the founder and chief creative officer of Le Pain Quotidien, a bakery that opened in Belgium in 1990 and has since evolved into a chain of 172 restaurants worldwide. He began his career working as a chef with Michel Guérard, Georges Blanc, and Joël Robuchon. Coumont lives with his family near Montpellier, France. Jean-Pierre Gabriel is a Gourmand Cookbook award-winning author and photographer. Le Pain Quotidien is their first book together.
