Carol Mighton Haddix is a freelance food writer and editor. She recently retired as food editor of the Chicago Tribune, a post she held for 31 years. Under her direction, "Good Eating," the Tribune' food section, won yearly best-section awards and nominations from the Association of Food Journalists and writing awards from the James Beard Foundation. She's a founding member and past president of Les Dames d'Escoffier Chicago, as well as a member of the Culinary Historians of Chicago and the James Beard Foundation. Haddix divides her time between Chicago and the Leelanau Peninsula in Michigan.
