Sydney Meers is the chef and owner of Stove in Portsmouth, VA. Growing up in Senatobia, MS, he learned how to cook in the kitchen of his grandmother's restaurant, Johnson Cafe. He attended culinary school after serving in the Air Force in the late 1970s. He's now an evangelical cook of Southern food, spreading the gospel by way of his menu and occasional cooking classes.
