Eydie Eisen Desser is from deep in the heart of Texas—Beaumont, Texas, that is. Where the air is so thick and the sun is so hot, it’ll melt your fat like butter. Which happened to be her mom’s favorite cooking ingredient and the person from whom she got her passion for cooking. This one ingredient made life so delicious at home that her mom and she wrote a family cookbook titled Just Add Butter. Eydie She took a hiatus from her advertising career and attended the French Culinary Institute where she earned her Grand Diplôme in Culinary Arts. Shortly after graduating, her then-boyfriend asked her to marry him. “I guess the old adage is true,” Eydie says, “the way to a man’s heart, is through his stomach!” Now they live in Santa Monica, CA, where she happily test recipes for Leite’s Culinaria, for the benefit of her family and friends. In addition, Eydie’s a cooking school teacher and a private chef for an Entertainment executive, i.e., her husband.
