Pink Sbagliato

The pink sbagliato, a stunning cross between a negroni and Champagne cocktail, is made with Campari, sweet vermouth, and sparkling rosé.

Four low ball glasses filled with pink sbagliato

Sometimes making a mistake is a good thing. This is one of those times. The sbagliato cocktail is believed to have been conceived when a bartender accidentally topped a negroni with sparkling wine instead of gin. In our version, the “mistake” is further compounded by using sparkling rosé in place of traditional bubbly, resulting in an even more spectacular sbagliato than the classic in a stunning shade of pink. As one of our testers noted, it’s “a gorgeous hybrid of a classic Negroni and a Champagne cocktail.”–Angie Zoobkoff

Recipe Testers' Reviews

The best way I can describe this pink-hued cocktail is as a gorgeous hybrid of a classic Negroni and a Champagne cocktail. With the distinct blood orange, bitter flavor of Campari, the herbal and slightly sweet note of the vermouth, and the dry sparkling wine, the results are quite festive! And serving it over ice gives it a sort of laid-back, casual feel; you can almost picture a room filled with people at a cocktail party walking around with these tasty concoctions!

Easy to make and even easier to drink, this cocktail is perfect any time of year. I can see it being popular around the holidays, at your next birthday gathering, even during the summer at your next pool party. I really enjoyed the Pink sbagliato and will be making it again...and very soon. Cin cin!

I absolutely LOVED this drink and it will definitely be my number one drink for this summer! I really enjoy Negronis so this drink was a wonderful twist and the flavor was right up my alley.

It took less than a minute to make. I used Campari, Martini Vermouth Rosso, and a local pink sparkling wine.

It was so delicious!

This cocktail tastes like something from a fancy cocktail bar and yet is so easy to make! Unlike other champagne cocktails, the campari cuts the sweetness of the sparkling rose. Perfect for warm summer evenings outside.
