About Rosie Schaap

Rosie Schaap has been a bartender, a fortune-teller, a librarian at a paranormal society, an English teacher, an editor, a preacher, a community organizer, and a manager of homeless shelters. Her father is legendary sports broadcaster and journalist Dick Schaap. She’s currently a contributor to This American Life and npr.org and writes the “Drink” column for The New York Times Magazine. Schaap was born in and still resides in New York City.
