Claire Ptak

A California native, Claire Ptak worked as a pastry chef for Alice Waters at the legendary Chez Panisse before moving to London. She staged at restaurants including Moro and St. John before starting Violet, her cake stall on Broadway Market. She opened the brick-and-mortar Violet bakery in 2010. Ptak is also a food writer and stylist whose work includes the UK’s Guardian, Observer Food Monthly, Jamie Magazine, Kinfolk, and Vogue. She’s the author of nearly half a dozen cookbooks, including her most recent title, The Violet Bakery Cookbook. @violetcakeslondon
