Frances grew up cooking alongside her mother, eventually preparing meals for the family on her own. High school home economics was her favorite class and was where she realized she would have a career involving food and cooking. In the late 1970s, Frances landed an apprenticeship with Nathalie Dupree at Rich’s Cooking School in Atlanta. Her love of cooking and experimentation grew and Nathalie educated her on all the possibilities of careers in food. She went to cooking school in China with her mother and, while working at her first job at a food company, she was sent to culinary school in France and England. Frances has spent the last 40 years working at food manufacturing companies, including McCormick, as well as in restaurants and catering. Frances is retired and lives in Florida where she teaches yoga.
