About Jeremy Butler

Jeremy Butler was born and grew up in Idaho Falls, Idaho. He has been writing since high school where he participated in journalism on the school’s newspaper staff and won national honors for writing at the JEA/NSPA Convention. He studied Food Science at Brigham Young University and currently works in Product Development for a frozen foods company. He has experimented with homemade soda off and on since 2002 and is the author of The Homemade Soda Expert blog. Comments and questions on the site and off have come from homemade soda enthusiasts, home brewers, bartenders and restaurant owners seeking to improve their soda making skills. Since 2011, he has been an active member of the HomebrewTalk.com forums under the moniker MrFoodScientist, where he commonly answers questions regarding carbonation, recipes and syrup making.
