About Whitney Miller

At age 22, Whitney Miller put her Southern charm and culinary skill to work and became the first winner of the MasterChef TV series. Whitney learned to cook from women who were as welcoming as they were hard-working, and their influences inspired her first cookbook and entertaining guide, Modern Hospitality. Whitney’s own generosity extends far beyond her kitchen–she often gives lectures and cooking demonstrations at numerous nonprofit events around the country. @whitneymillerh

Game Day Chili

With apologies to the politically correct, the froufrou, tea party-like semblance of this recipe is just a guise. Trust us. It’s an unfussy, hearty, stick-to-your-ribs kind of chili.

Butter Pecan Affogato

Straight from Venice by way of Charleston, this Southern belle cheats a little, usurping the role of vanilla gelato with butter pecan ice cream.
