This lime soda is an easy summer alternative to plain old water made with lime juice, soda water, and a little salt. Natch, there's always the option of adding a splash of something stronger and turning it into a cocktail.
If desired, toss a handful of ice cubes into a tall glass.
Pour in the lime juice, add a pinch of salt, and top off with soda water, seltzer, or sparkling water.
☞ TESTER TIP: Much depends on the quality of your water. Use the highest-quality, fanciest soda water, seltzer, or sparkling water you can find (and afford).
Run the lime around the rim of the glass and drop the wedge inside. Bottoms up!
Notes
Lime Soda Variation
Lime Spritzer: Turn this simple soda into a cocktail by adding 1 ounce of gin or vodka. You may want to go a little light on the soda water.Angostura Orange Soda: For a slightly sweeter version of this soda, swap in freshly squeezed orange juice and a few drops Angostura bitters for the lime juice and salt and use an orange slice in place of the lime wedge. Splash in 1 ounce vodka or rum if you like.
