Cosmo Shot

Consider this cosmopolitan shot like an amuse bouche for your cocktail game. Tart cranberry and lime juice, pair beautifully with vodka and Cointreau.

Equipment

  • Cocktail shaker and a shot glass

Ingredients

  • 1/2 ounce vodka, preferably citrus vodka
  • 1/2 ounce Cointreau or other orange liqueur
  • 1/4 ounce cranberry juice, (real juice and not cranberry cocktail)
  • 1 lime wedge
  • Ice
  • 1 strip orange zest

Instructions

  • Toss the vodka, Cointreau or other orange liqueur, cranberry juice, and lime wedge in a cocktail shaker with some ice and shake, shake, shake. Strain the booze into a shot glass.
  • If desired, take a match or a lighter to the zest and let it catch fire. Wait just a moment while the essential oils burn and then blow the flame out. Drop the zest in the shot glass and serve.
