Jerome Raguso is the owner of Gino’s Pastry Shop in the Bronx, NY. Known as the “Cannoli King of Arthur Avenue,” he sent unfilled cannoli shells to several City Council members in 2011 to protest the proposed funding cuts to cultural organizations. The empty pastry shells were a metaphor for how small businesses depend on cultural organizations to attract tourists into the surrounding neighborhoods. @ginospastryshop
