Lily Wong, Recipe Tester

A list of all the recipes Lily Wong has tested.

A woman working with dough.

Lily grew up spending time in her family’s Chinese restaurant, where she learned the importance of great ingredients. The noodles were made daily, and everything was made from scratch. Her friends are so grateful for the recipes she still makes from memory.

She started her journey of experiencing different cuisines and desserts by reading cookbooks along with her school books. To this day, she’ll look at a recipe and assess whether she thinks it will be successful or if she needs to make adjustments. She uses this same process in selecting which recipe she tests and provides tips that she hopes will be helpful for others.

Lily sees cooking as a creative process and another outlet for her creativity. When she’s not in the kitchen, she creates industry-leading corporate learning and development programs and volunteers training service dogs for veterans. One of her original recipes won a readers’ recipe contest and was published in Bon Appétit in 2007.

Her favorite recipe on the site is David’s Pumpkin Cake with Maple Cream Cheese Frosting.
