The One and I wanted to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, so we got up early to make a video. Why we didn’t think to do this last week, when we weren’t rushed, I’ll never know. But at least you can see the snowfall through the windows on this white Christmas.
And if you’re curious as to the recipes we’re making for our Christmas dinner, here they are:
Gougeres
Beef Wellington
Braised Carrots with Orange and Rosemary
Old-Fashioned Potato Gratin
Hershey Chocolate Cake with Peanut Butter Frosting (The frosting is from Epicurious, and we have adapted a million ways from Sunday. So I can’t give you an exact recipe.)
Now, we’re very curious as to what you making today. So comment below and send any pictures here. We’ll post them with your comments.
I read this post just before I left to go to a farmer’s market this morning. Those carrots look so tempting this will be a dish I make for Christmas next week! With luck there will be some multi-colored beauties there for me to buy. I love, love, love your blog and wish you and the One the merriest of holidays. And can’t wait to see how you welcome in the new decade!!
And happy and delicious holidays to you and yours, Ann-Marie!
We are going to our daughterโs & SILโs. They are both hunters & we are having seafood chowder as an appetizer, (Weber grilled) Venison rack, which will be amazing aaentree & vegetable & of course dessert. Amazing wine (both white and red) and OF COURSE white elephant exchange & great game playing. Canโt wait to share a great family moment & love-sharing. Hope you all can do the same! XO
Grammasue
Grammasue, I think I’m ditching my Christmas celebration and going to yours! Merry Christmas!
You two are fabulous! I’ve never had the courage to make Wellington but am now very tempted ๐
Mary, it’s fun. Nerve-wracking, but fun. I followed the recipe on the site.
Mary, have courage. The Wellington was amazing!
