Comforting & Cozy Winter Recipes

Winter has a singular talent: It can make even the most ardent DoorDash fan want to turn on the oven and cook. (I think it’s evolutionary. Shorter days + hibernation mode = comfort foods.)

And Braised Pork Shoulder with Chorizo and White Beans is the answer. It spends hours in the oven doing all the work while you take full credit. Having people over? Braised Pork in Red Chile Sauce
has just enough swagger to make guests think you have a side gig as a sous chef. When it’s Tuesday, you’re frozen through, and dinner needs to happen before you start eyeing the bag of tortilla crumbs as a legit meal, my Blue Cheese, Sausage, and Walnut Pasta and this 3-Ingredient Mac & Cheese are your support group.

And because no winter meal should ever end on a sensible note, there’s Basque Cheesecake with Pomegranate Molasses—burnished, creamy, and just dramatic enough to earn an audible gasps. (I shan’t say it’s better than sex, but… it is up there!)

A green plate containing sweet potato puree, topped with 2 pieces of short rib. A Dutch oven is beside the bowl with more short ribs.
Slices of blackened ahi tuna with soy-mustard sauce lined up next to each other with two lime wedges on the side.
