Barbara Hinde

Barbara grew up in rural Illinois with parents who forced her to weed the vegetable gardens, pick perpetually ripening fruit, help extract honey from hives, and pluck beans and tomatoes from between the webs of spiders. With an eye toward culinary history and culture, Barbara’s interest in cooking was further sparked by long hours watching PBS. Now an art historian, she resides in suburban Chicago with her husband, daughters, and cats, shopping for produce at farmers’ markets as nature intended.
