The Ho of Christmas Morning

The One and I wanted to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, so we got up early to make a video. Why we didn’t think to do this last week, when we weren’t rushed, I’ll never know. But at least you can see the snowfall through the windows on this white Christmas.

And if you’re curious as to the recipes we’re making for our Christmas dinner, here they are:

Gougeres
Beef Wellington
Braised Carrots with Orange and Rosemary
Old-Fashioned Potato Gratin
Hershey Chocolate Cake with Peanut Butter Frosting (The frosting is from Epicurious, and we have adapted a million ways from Sunday. So I can’t give you an exact recipe.)

A beef tenderloin covered in pate and chopped mushrooms and wrapped in puff pastry on a cutting board

Now, we’re very curious as to what you making today. So comment below and send any pictures here. We’ll post them with your comments.

Hungry For More?

‘Tis the Season to Feel Guilty

Every holiday season, do you think THIS year will be the best ever only to be wracked with guilt because you’ve fallen short? David’s got your back.

They’re Alive!

David finds he may have a green thumb after all as he looks upon the chlorophyl duking it out in his garden in Darwinian style.

  1. Oh my gosh, that was hysterical and so cute!! Hahaha! I love it, thanks for the laughs at the end of this wonderful day. I made lasagna with no boil noodles – first time trying them, they were not bad! Really cut down on the prep time. God bless you both. And keep the videos coming!

p.s. I “forgot” to make vegetables… does antipasto count? Artichoke hearts, mushrooms, roasted peppers…they count, right? ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Thanks, Francine! And you’re welcome. Your dinner sounds wonderful. I must confess: I like no-boil noodles, too, when I’m in a hurry. And as far I’m concerned, parsley counts as a vegetable, but I don’t think The One will give it a green light as a veg!

    2. Francine, David would always “forget” to make vegetables if it were up to him. (And parsley does not count as a vegetable–although I love it in a salad.)

  2. Merry Christmas David, and to The One! Loved the video. Made my sausage and apple stuffing that went into my friends turkey, as my contribution to the feast. Everyone had seconds of stuffing, so that was a good thing. Roasted veggies with carrots, parsnips and Brussels sprouts. I’m so full now, I think I’m going to burst.

  3. Didnโ€™t cook but did make 120 latkes for Chanukah. Loved the video. Still waiting for the visit.

    1. Shela, that is the ONE thing I missed out on this year: latkes. Are you coming out East anytime soon?
